Fatigue, bloating, and brain fog from weak digestion
Six Gentlemen
Supports Relief From
Six Gentlemen is a foundational formula for individuals experiencing fatigue, bloating, and digestive discomfort due to a weak spleen and stomach. Common symptoms include gas, nausea, poor appetite, and phlegm buildup—often worsened by cold, damp conditions or eating heavy foods. This formula supports smoother digestion and helps restore energy by tonifying spleen qi and transforming dampness.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this formula strengthens the spleen's ability to transform food and fluids, preventing the accumulation of dampness and phlegm. It’s especially helpful when weak digestion is contributing to both low energy and mucus-related issues.
How It Works Holistically
Six Gentlemen builds upon the classic Four Gentlemen formula, with additional herbs to harmonize and regulate the digestive system. Codonopsis and Bai-Zhu Atractylodes help tonify spleen and lung qi, promoting better nutrient absorption and fluid metabolism. Ginger and cardamom warm and awaken the digestive system, while tangerine peel and costus root help move stagnation and reduce gas and fullness. This warming and drying action also helps reduce phlegm associated with spleen qi deficiency.
The blend is particularly suited for cold and deficient constitutions with symptoms of damp accumulation, such as heaviness, foggy thinking, loose stools, or post-meal fatigue.
When Six Gentlemen Is Right for You
Six Gentlemen may be ideal if you often feel tired, sluggish, or bloated after eating—especially when symptoms are paired with poor appetite, nausea, or mucus production. It's especially well-suited to those with cold, damp digestive patterns or spleen qi deficiency contributing to chronic fatigue or respiratory phlegm.
Long-term use is typically needed to strengthen and rebuild spleen qi and digestive resilience.

This Chinese herbal supplement is easy to take in capsules and works for what it is intended. The formula is not as concise and personalized as if you had gone to a Chinese herbal doctor, but it definitely gets the job done.
This particular blend of herbs (or very similar formulations) has been used for a very long time by Chinese practitioners and as I have appreciated the products from this company previously, I figured I would give it a try for digestion issues. I have definitely felt like my digestion has been better and I have had much less bloating since starting this formula. The capsules are easy to take and are a natural and vegan formula, which is important to me. They do have a strong scent to them, but somewhat pleasant in an herbal way and they do not leave any aftertaste that I have experienced. My one gripe is that the recommended serving size is two capsules, three times a day (six a day total). In a 90-capsule bottle, this gives you 15 days of dosage, not the 45 servings that it specifically claims in the listing. I have noted this to be an issue with this particular company. They do not make it clear upfront that their quoted serving size is in regard to one single dose a day, not the three times a day dose that seems to be recommended on the actual bottle for most of their products. I did dock a star for this, as I feel transparency is important and this makes the value of the supplement much less when you are getting only 1/3 of the number of days out of it that you anticipate for the price when purchasing. Overall, I do really appreciate the formulations that I have tried from this company, and I do hope that they become a bit more upfront in their listings as to how many *actual* daily servings that you can actually expect from a bottle.

I’ve been taking Health Concerns Six Gentlemen for a few weeks to help with occasional bloating and general digestive comfort and it’s been surprisingly effective. The formula blends licorice root, ginger, and codonopsis, which makes it feel traditional and holistic rather than harsh or overly strong. The capsules are easy to swallow and haven’t upset my stomach, which is always a concern with herbal supplements. They also don't have any odd smells or flavor. I’ve noticed less bloating and discomfort after meals and my digestion feels smoother overall. It’s subtle, not an instant fix, but consistent use seems to help maintain balance and gut health. For folks looking for a gentle natural approach to digestive support and Qi balance, this seems like a premium, thoughtfully formulated option.
It’s hard to review supplements because I’m never really sure they are working…or not working. Since I’ve started taking these I have felt regular, which can be a challenge for me. But before I was taking these I was also feeling pretty regular at the moment. For me it can change with diet, water intake and maybe the weather. I’m giving these the benefit of the doubt. They are easy to take as they are gelcaps. Serving size is 2. They are a bit more pricey than regular stool softeners and such but they are a completely different, gentle herbal product. So far I like them. They most definitely haven’t caused any stomach cramping or ill effects.
