Pomegranate Update (2020)

Pomegranate is a small, fruit-bearing tree cultivated around the world. Pomegranates are considered one of the healthiest fruits packed with nutrients and powerful plant compounds.

Orally, pomegranate is used for hypertension, congestive heart failure (CHF), coronary heart disease (CHD), myocardial ischemia, atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, metabolic syndrome, end-stage renal disease (ESRD),  rheumatoid arthritis (RA), athletic performance, exercise-induced muscle soreness, muscle strength, tapeworm infestations, and opportunistic intestinal worms. It is also used for preventing prostate cancer, obesity and weight loss, sunburn, and as an astringent, for diarrhea and dysentery. Other uses include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), menopausal symptoms, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), influenza, erectile dysfunction (ED), neonatal ischemia, diabetes, cancer, and for promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria in the large intestine.

In this webinar, Andrew Gaeddert, RH, founder of Health Concerns, reviews the research, and clinical efficacy of pomegranate as a food, supplement and herbal medicine. Andrew Gaeddert is a researcher, educator and clinician.
