Nourishing the Stomach and Spleen with Rick Gold

In Chinese medicine, the spleen and stomach are the root of source qi, and therefore the root of health.  There are many methods to enhance digestion.  We will review herbs, dietary and lifestyle advice for nourishing the digestive organs.  For example, in TCM, not only the food is important, but also the spirit in which the food is consumed.  Meditation and sound healing are also methods to support the spleen and stomach.  In this special webinar, we will be joined by Rick Gold, PhD, L.Ac., a pioneer in the field of acupuncture and Chinese medicine who has created Six Healing Sounds, a CD which contains relaxing music designed to support the spleen and other organs.

Dr. Gold has practiced clinical TCM since 1978.  He earned a doctorate in psychology in 1983.  He is one of the original founders of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and served on the faculty for many years.  Recently, Dr. Gold has pursued an academic interest in neuroscience and a personal experiential involvement in sound-assisted meditation.  Recently, he has collaborated with Yuval Ron, an internationally acclaimed, award-winning performer and composer to compose beautiful original music that utilizes the ancient TCM teachings on the Six Healing Sounds along with the most current theories of neuroscience and the effects of sound and music on brain functions and meditative states.  This task culminated in a 6 CD box set totaling 330 minutes of beautiful music entitled, ‘Ancient Wisdom of Modern Sounds for Health and healing.’  Dr. Gold is a published author, experienced teacher, clinician and researcher.
