Back pain

Chronic Low Back Pain
By Andrew Gaeddert

Low back pain is the most common chronic pain in the U.S., affecting sixty percent of adults during their lifetime. Back pain has several causes including ligament strain, cartilage degeneration, nerve compression or bone fracture due to injury or osteoporosis.

Bone loss doesn’t cause pain, but the weakened bone is susceptible to fractures. Vertebral fractures, the most common, compress the spinal column, shorten height and cause pain. Getting adequate calcium, taking vitamin D, and using BioStrong are highly effective ways of improving bone health. BioStrong has also been useful in treating bone pain.

For nerve compression, Channel Flow along with topical treatments such as Resinall K can be very helpful in treating pain and helping to wean patients off opiates.  Whereas Collagenex can help regenerate cartilage and heal ligaments, Resinall K and Resinall E with proteolytic enzymes are recommended in the initial stages of injury or to aid in surgical recovery.

Backbone is a warming formula that supplements yang, increases blood circulation and strengthens the back and knees. It is an excellent formula for treating back pain associated with cold signs, and can be used as an adjunct or standalone treatment.
